(no subject)

I tried this awhile back, but nobody replied, so I thought I'd try again:

If there is something about me that you think you should know, or are just curious about, post a question in the comments and I'll try to answer it.

I don't promise to answer *every* question (I can think of some that nobody should have to answer), and I don't necessarily promise to answer completely (if it's too personal or violates a confidence) but I do promise to be truthful.

And post this in your own LJ if you'd like to try it.

What's the appeal on "memes" like this?

(No, seriously, that's my question. I don't get it.)

For memes like this one, it's because you get to know someone better. No, really, I posted a comment in someone's LJ in response to this very meme a few weeks back and got a several-comment answer that was very enlightening.

For memes like the quizzes that go around, I usually participate if I like the answer it gives me, or I think the answer is funny, or if I like the picture.

Also, since I don't have very much time to come up with insightful entries, it gives me something to post so people around here don't think I've kicked the bucket.

Well, I don't usually participate in these things because all the questions I can think of are either inane (what is your favorite color) or way too personal.

But, here is something I've been thinking about myself, so I will ask you: If you could live anywhere, where would it be, and why?

1) If I were wealthy enough, I'd travel rather than stay in one place.
2) If I had to pick one place, it would be in suburbia/relatively safe urbia. I like being able to see shows and stuff that I miss out in the boonies here.
3) I don't really have any preference as to specific region, my preferences in that line are more geared to "where do my friends live?". In this light, I would probably head back to Northern Virginia, since there are a half dozen people living there who I don't see nearly often enough.
4) All that having been said, if the US keeps sliding down the slippery slope it's perched on, I may end up getting the hell out of Dodge. If I can.
