Doing the math

I just ran some preliminary figures. These values are all approximate, since I was just looking for an order of magnitude.
My current expenses range from about $1100 to $1300 per month. Of course, I am going to do my best to reduce all expenditures and eliminate entirely any goodies. Still, given that most of that sum comes from non-negotiable things like rent, utilities, insurance, etc., I doubt I can get it much below $1000 and I'll be lucky if I reduce it that far. So let's take the worst case scenario--$1300 in expenses per month.
My current savings, plus the outstanding income that I'm expecting, including severance, comes to about $4500. My checking account minimum balance is $1500. At this rate, I have 2.3 months to find a job before I go below my minimum balance. I have 3.5 months to find a job before I exhaust my savings entirely.
When I do find a job, assuming the usual 40 hr workweek and not calculating for any overtime, I need a job paying me *at least* $8.13/hr just to meet my expenses. Of course, I want one that pays better than that.
