Wordsworth's Daffodils
Mar. 13th, 2004 05:34 pmThat floats on high o’er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
-William Wordsworth
Whenever spring rolls around here, I have to think that Wordsworth must have visited here, maybe in his dreams. Because we have so many daffodils here, you see.
By the way, what's the difference between daffodils, narcissus, and jonquils? I read somewhere that they actually are slightly different but related plants, but then I've also read that they're the same thing. I think we have all three here, if they really are different things.
Anyway, we've got a lot of them. And they're all up and blooming. And cut ones inside the house too, which might explain the low grade headache I've been having the past few days.
