And I thought it couldn't get any worse...

After months of 100+ temperatures, I thought we were finally on the downside. A month, month-and-a-half, tops, and the heat would finally break. We can get through this, I thought. It can't get much worse, I thought.

This week, the forecasted high temperatures are 105 & 106 degrees. Heat index values between 109 & 112.

The only thing that can break the ridge of high pressure that is keeping the heat over us is a tropical storm. Alas, Don went too far south to do much good. And no sign of any more storms for the nonce.

I'm heading to SC for an interview Thurs. I can't believe that I'm looking forward to it as a way to beat the heat, if only for a few days.

This is the worst heat I've ever experienced down here. Words fail me.
