Date: 2005-08-24 12:52 am (UTC)(I like to think I've gained an affinity for both Polish and Russian surnames, since Brooklyn has a burgeoning population of Russian emigres that I deal with on a regular basis at work, plus there is a sizable, and very, very distinct hardcore Polish enclave - seriously, third and fourth generations later, and the signs on all the stores are still in Polska.
