[interior. penthouse. day. OLD MAN is supervising a crew of guys who are moving in furniture, touching up paint, making small repairs, etc., throughout the scene. IOW, organized chaos.]

JUNIOR's voice comes from the exterior door.

JUNIOR: Dad! Hey dad! Where are you?
OLD MAN: In here!
JUNIOR: Oh, there you are!
OLD MAN: What's up?
JUNIOR: [looking around] Man, you've almost got this finished, haven't you?
OLD MAN: Yeah.
JUNIOR: So what're you just hanging around here for? Micromanaging again?
OLD MAN: No, I'm waiting for some tenants.
JUNIOR: Tenants? Already?
OLD: Yeah, a couple called about the other penthouse. Some folks called Adam and Eve.
JUNIOR: Oh, well, good luck. I'm gonna be heading over to Sammy's...
OLD MAN: Sammy?! Sammy Morningstar? That good-for-nothing? Why'd you want to hang around *him* of all people?
JUNIOR: Aw, dad, Sammy ain't so bad. Even if you and his old man are at odds...
OLD MAN: If?! That's the whole part of the Deal, boy! How many times do I have to say it to get through that thick head of yours, eh?
JUNIOR: Aw, dad...
OLD MAN: Well, go on if you got to, but just remember, Sammy and his old man are out to get this place back from us, anyway they can. That's the Deal.
JUNIOR: Okay, okay, dad. Whatever you say. Anyway, I'm off!
OLD MAN: Later.

JUNIOR exits.

OLD MAN: [grumbling to himself]: Sammy Morningstar...
