The Suntory corporation in Japan's been pursuing blue roses for more than twenty years. Haven't gotten there yet, but they did along the way create a really neat deep purple carnation. :-)

If they're able to pull this off, and, seeing that it's stems partially from human genes, maybe they'll find a way to make blue humans! THAT would be awesome...
