Vignettes from my last weekend in HS follow (warning, may be insectaphobic insensitive):
Friday night, as I was examining the progress of the storm raging outside, I noticed something on the glass door to our back porch. Turned out to be a tiny green frog, perched comfortably on the vertical glass. About |-----------| long. V. Cute.
Saturday morning, while wandering about outside, I noted three praying mantises on the windows looking out onto the back porch. Two were obviously of the same species, being about the same size (and about the same size as the aforementioned frog) and patterned with shades of grey and white, very much like oak bark. The third was a little bit larger and was a pale shade of green. V. Amusing all day long to watch them climb up the windows and maneuver around each other.
On my way back to Kilgore on Sunday, I saw a coyote cross the road in front of me. V. Cool.
