Not sure how many of you know this, but I subscribe to kittenbreak as a LJ feed. Cute pictures of kittens and cats to coo over, since I can't have one of my own atm. Like a lot of feeds, it attracts trolls.

Today, someone posted a video in the comments thread--not cut, visible to everyone who opened the link--of something that I understand is call crush porn.
Women wearing high heels stepping on kittens/cats to kill them.
In plain sight of anyone clicking on that link. Including minors. Kittenbreak being a feed, it is by definition unmoderated. It *cannot* be moderated. That video was visible to everyone until some people posted enough random comments to cause that particular thread to collapse.

This activity was reported to the LJ Abuse Team not once, but at least a half-dozen or more times. Their response:

While the content in question may be disturbing, it is not in violation of LiveJournal's Terms of Service. LiveJournal allows for its users to express themselves in a wide variety of ways, even if they may be considered objectionable to others.
We cannot take action against a user for admitting that they have committed illegal activities or posting images thereof; it is not illegal to discuss illegal actions. We can only take action if the user is actively encouraging others to commit such actions, or if they are soliciting or providing information on how to do so. Because this is not the case here, we cannot take action.
Showing people stomping on, abusing, and cruelly *killing* animals is not showing people how to commit crimes??? BULLSHIT!!!!!!! Posting this in a place where it is *automatically* visible to *anyone* clicking the link, *including MINORS*, is not against LJ TOS, which *specifically regulates content shown to MINORS*???????? BULLSHIT, BULLSHIT, BULLSHIT!!!!!!!!
I don't know what the HELL kind of dream world the LJ Abuse Team is living in, but it's not one where I want to be living in. This SHIT is *NOT* okay, should *NOT* have been posted and *SHOULD* be acted against, NOW!!!!!
