Back from the funeral, which I will write more about later, after my thoughts become more coherent.

On a totally different subject altogether, I had the Very Evil(tm) thought today of making an April Fool's post saying that hoya99 and I were breaking the wedding off because I caught him in flagrante delicto with belle_canto.

Decided not to because 1) I wouldn't post that w/out getting belle_canto's permission first, and 2) my sweetie talked me out of it, fearing that too many people might take it seriously.

I am wondering, though, what would have been the reaction if I had?

I would have taken it seriously, because I DON'T EXPECT PEOPLE TO LIE ABOUT SUCH THINGS, even on April Fools Day. (I hate April Fools day, because I always get confused, and then pissed off.)

And I would have been really pissed off when I discovered it was a "joke," because again with the lying.

I pretty much agree. I wouldn't have been actively pissed, but... I would have been annoyed, and my respect would have probably dropped a notch. Because there's things to joke about, and things not to. And despite how some people treat it, April Fools Day isn't a day to just basically lie about stuff and then point and people and say "haha, fooled you, idiots!"

Now granted, I don't know either of the other two people involved personally, so I don't exactly have a good baseline to judge how ridiculous it is. But then I also doubt I'm alone in that boat on here. So yeah, would probably be a bad idea.
