I'm a bookaholic

1. I have read fiction when I was depressed, or to cheer myself up.
Hell yes. In fact, I discovered Guy Gavriel Kay during a weekend when I was severely depressed and did nothing more than read, sleep, and eat all weekend.
2. I have gone on reading binges of an entire book or more in a day.
*smile* Provided I have nothing work or chore related to do. My record is five books (The Belgariad) in seven hours.
3. I read rapidly, often 'gulping' chapters.
Yes. Especially when reading something for the first time.
4. I have sometimes read early in the morning or before work.
Yes. While I'm eating breakfast, actually.
5. I have hidden books in different places to sneak a chapter without being seen.
Hidden, no. They're out in plain sight. *grin* And yeah, they're everywhere.
6. Sometimes I avoid friends or family obligations in order to read novels.
Avoid, no. Would rather read than go, often.
7. Sometimes I re-write film or television dialog as the characters speak.
During and also after. I love continuing storylines in my head or making up "what if" scenarios.
8. I am unable to enjoy myself with others unless there is a book nearby.
Well, this, no.
9. At a party, I will often slip off unnoticed to read.
Likewise. That would be rude.
10. Reading has made me seek haunts and companions which I would otherwise avoid.
Well, yes. I would never have made friends with people I only knew over the internet before I found rasfwrj and the Darkfriends.
11. I have neglected personal hygiene or household chores until I have finished a novel.
No. I have and do read while doing hygeine or household chores if it's physically possible.
12. I have spent money meant for necessities on books instead.
No. I just don't go to the bookstore in that circumstance, so as to keep away from temptation.
13. I have attempted to check out more library books than permitted.
The libraries I've frequented never had a limit. I've checked out piles of books (15 or more) and read them in as short a period as 4 or 5 days.
14. Most of my friends are heavy fiction readers.
Oh, yeah.
15. I have sometimes passed out from a night of heavy reading.
Nope. *smile*
16. I have suffered 'blackouts' or memory loss from a bout of reading.
Nope. *smile*
17. I have wept, become angry or irrational because of something I read.
Oh hell yeah.
18. I have sometimes wished I did not read so much.
Hell no.
19. Sometimes I think my reading is out of control.
There is no such thing as too much reading.

2. I have gone on reading binges of an entire book or more in a day.
Oh, an entire book in a day! One whole book! That's such a major binge!!!

To which my answer is, yes.
